On Dec 10, Senator John Boozman (R-AR) introduced S. 5007, a Senate counterpart to H.R. 8702, the Holding Providers Harmless from Medicare Cuts During COVID-19 Act of 2020.
The title and text are identical to H.R. 8702, except for the updated reference to the proposed GPC1X (G2211) add-on code.
S. 5007 would provide critical relief to rehabilitation therapists scheduled to receive Medicare payment cuts under the fee schedule next year as a result of the evaluation and management (E/M) changes made by CMS.
This bipartisan legislation would ensure payments to therapy providers are kept stable at the 2020 rates for the next two years.
Urge your Senators to cosponsor S. 5007 and
add the bill to any legislative package moving in the Senate
before the end of this year.
